Prepare to Revisit the Upside Down one Last Time: 'Stranger Things' Returns for a Final Showdown

Get ready, fans of supernatural suspense—our final journey with the brave teens of Hawkins, Indiana is on the horizon. Netflix has officially announced that the fifth and concluding chapter of Stranger Things is set to arrive on November 26, as revealed during their Tudum fan gathering in Los Angeles.

This farewell season will unfold in a unique way, broken into three separate volumes, diverging from the previous season’s two-part release. The first batch of episodes drops in November, followed by the second installment during Christmas 2025, and the grand finale will close out the year on New Year's Eve.

While Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria hasn’t offered much insight into the controversial decision to stagger releases, she has hinted that the platform may continue this trend in future series.

The new season’s teaser was introduced by cast members Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin. Absent from the event was Millie Bobby Brown, who is currently overseas filming the next Enola Holmes installment in London.

Season 5, which completed filming last December, is confirmed to be the series’ swan song. Last year, fans were given a sneak peek at the episode titles—offering both clues and cryptic gaps. The list includes: “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of _____,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape from Camazotz,” “The Bridge,” and “The Right-side Up.” The second title remains a mystery—what, or who, disappears is still under wraps.

New faces are set to join the cast, including Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. They'll be joining returning favorites like Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.

Also making their comeback are Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower (as the menacing Vecna), and Amybeth McNulty.

A time jump will shake things up in this last season—the story resumes in the autumn of 1987, picking up more than a year after the seismic events of season 4, which concluded with Vecna unleashing chaos upon Hawkins by ripping open a gateway to the Upside Down.

As fans count down to the epic conclusion, one thing’s for sure: the battle for Hawkins isn’t over just yet.
