Brand-New 'Superman' Trailer showcases a Fresh Take on the Iconic Hero

Get ready for liftoff — the latest peek at Superman has arrived, and it’s shaking up the DC Universe in style.
Warner Bros. has dropped the official trailer for James Gunn’s much-anticipated superhero reboot, soaring into theaters on July 11. Front and center is David Corenswet, stepping into the boots of the Man of Steel, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as the fearless reporter Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as the sinister intellect, Lex Luthor.
This bold reimagining follows the legendary Kryptonian’s arrival on Earth and the internal conflict he faces juggling cosmic powers with a very human existence as mild-mannered journalist Clark Kent.
In a striking moment from the trailer, Hoult’s Luthor chillingly declares, “That’s no man — it’s a thing. And now the world revolves around it.”
A sneak peek previously teased fans with a wounded Superman being hauled to safety by his loyal dog Krypto, arriving at the icy sanctuary of the Fortress of Solitude. Once there, a group of robotic assistants revives him, one quipping with deadpan delivery, “Gratitude unnecessary, sir. Appreciation isn’t in our programming.”
James Gunn hyped the trailer on Instagram earlier this week, writing, “I’ve waited a long time to bring this to you — and now it’s finally here!”
The film represents a monumental moment not just for DC Studios, but also for Gunn and producing partner Peter Safran, who are spearheading this next era of superhero storytelling.
Rounding out the star-studded cast are Skyler Gisondi as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Tesch Macher, Edi Gat Hegi as Mister Terrific, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.
During a CinemaCon appearance, Corenswet reflected on taking up the legendary cape: “It’s a true privilege to embody a character who’s been etched into pop culture for generations.”
This fresh chapter in Superman’s story promises not just action and spectacle, but a heartfelt dive into what it means to be a hero in an uncertain world.
